Amber Ma is an illustrator and visual storyteller based in Tokyo.
She graduated from the MFA Illustration Department of School of Visual Arts in New York. She has won various illustration competitions including the well-known 3X3, Creative Quarterly, and ADC Annual Award in the United States. While working in New York, Amber has combined her own world of illustration into various fields, including limited edition packaging design for brands, mural design, and illustration visualization for art events.

In her personal works, she mainly depicts the construction of fantasy worlds and the traveling and exploring within them. She believes that the composition of these fantasy worlds is not fictional, but comes from the reflection of her inner emotions. By visualizing and narrating her inner emotions and thoughts, she finds the right way to understand the world. She has also used this as inspiration for a number of prints and series of illustrations.
