Rules for Our Forum

1. Treat members with respect - treat others the way you would like to be treated.

2. Please do not advertise in the forum. Personal announcements of exhibits, a major art event, or the like should be posted in the       blog. (Contact webmaster to have something added to the blog)

3. Do not post spam. All automative messages and advertisements will be deleted.

4. Posting your text in CAPITALS is considered shouting in the tech world and is not necessary.

5. Please post small images to the forum. Images should be 500 x 500 pixels or smaller.

6. Please do not swear or use offensive language to anyone in the posts.

7. Please do not harass or threaten any society members.

8. Please do not post inappropriate material to the forum. If you wouldn’t show it to your children, family, and friends, please don’t show it to us.

9. Please do not post copyrighted materials. These will be deleted.

What Happens If I Break A Rule?

The executive will be notified of the infraction to discuss the best course of action.

Minor Offence - Rules #2 and #3

1st Rule Break
    • Forum will be corrected and an email sent to you explaining why.

2nd Rule Break
    • Another warning

3rd Rule Break
    • You will be temporarily banned from the forum. The length of this ban to be decided by executive.

4th Rule Break
    • It will be assumed you are not willing to abide by our rules and you will be permanently banned from the forum.

Major Offence - Rules #1, #5, and #6

1st Rule Break

    • Forum will be corrected and an email sent to you explaining why.

2nd Rule Break
    • You will be temporarily banned from the forum. The length of this ban to be decided by executive.

3rd Rule Break
    • It will be assumed you are not willing to abide by our rules and you will be permanently banned from the forum.

 

• If you have any questions about the rules please feel free to contact any member of the executive.

• If you see any of the rules being broken, please pass this information on to the executive immediately so action can be taken.

• The executive maintains the right to modify, change, or delete these rules.

• The executive maintains to right to delete the forum from the Island Illustrators Society Website for any reason.

The Island Illustrators Society was established to foster a greater interest in the art of illustration. The society exists to benefit its members and clients through shared information regarding illustrative techniques, business ethics, and standards. In order to achieve these goals, the society makes partners of practicing illustrators, students, clients, and other interested parties. 

Definition: Illustration is a piece of visual information, either drawn or photographed, which usually illustrates an accompanying text. The purpose of illustration is to enhance the ideas presented in the text, or simply, to transmit information or concepts visually. 

The Island Illustrators Society does not act as an agent, but as a venue for you to contact any one of its members. You are invited to write to us at:
