Iris Churcher

Iris's career as an illustrator, began in London, England and then continued in Montreal, Vancouver and Victoria, Canada. She currently works from home on Vancouver Island, Canada. The diversity of these locations has introduced Iris to a wide range of clients and projects primarily within the editorial, advertising, and publishing industries. Commissions have included the development and creation of whimsical and humourous characters, both human and animal; botanicals in watercolour and colored pencil; colored pencil and pen and ink drawings of wildlife; a digitally illustrated map and a variety of other assignments that can best be viewed on my website.

Many of these commissions reflect her love of and interest in the natural world, and complement an exploration of the inner worlds of imagination through personal fine art drawings. Iris's favourite medium is coloured pencil, but she also uses Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, pen and ink, scratchboard, watercolor and acrylic. Iris has a BA in Graphic Design and an MA in Illustration. Iris has also illustrated under the name Jan Browne.
