It all began with doodling in class...
A resident of Vancouver Island, the natural splendour of her home has and continues to inspire Emily's art. In addition to being a member of the the Island Illustrators Society, she is also a member of the Society of Children's Books Writers and Illustrators, as well as the Federation of BC Writers.
Having honed her artistic practise in the Visual Arts major at Vancouver Island University, Emily subsequently began her career as an illustrator. Working in gouache and ink, her most recent accomplishment is illustrating a series of children's books, and writing and illustrating for the FBCW magazine "Word Works".
Her illustrations focus on telling the stories that are within everyone. Stories which speak to people. For children in particular, she looks forward to creating more literature to help them better understand themselves, and the world in which they are growing up.
