In a nutshell, I am a biologist who likes to draw. My style tends to be detailed and naturalistic, with simple compositions and the occasional foray into surrealism or abstract form. My subject matter includes the microscopic (I like moss!) and having been both a researcher and a teacher, I understand how scientists think and some of the challenges that come with conveying concepts through images. My main media are pencil, coloured pencil, and ink. I am interested in projects that have a technical or educational component, or that explore the interface between science and art.
