UPCOMING EVENTS:

New Year Show: Juan de Fuca Library January 4 to 31

The Island Illustrators Society "Happy New Year" show this January paves the way for a complete "Travelling Alphabet" Exhibit. The New Years show runs January 3 to 31, at the Juan de Fuca Library. Members of the Island Illustrators Society have also illustrated a complete travelling Canadian Nature alphabet which will be heading off on rotating visits to various lower Island libraries.

Next Island Illustrators Society Meeting: Wed January 18, 7 to 9:00 p.m. MEETING RESCHEDULED for Wed January 25, 7 to 9:00 p.m.
Social gathering, call for illustrator, announcements, updates on Alphabet Book and Travelling Alphabet Exhibit. Our secretary Allegra Vernon has created a beautiful little mock-up alphabet book and poster, there may be sneak preview at the meeting!! Keep an eye here in case we get snowed out.
Held at "The Barn" 1885 Lansdowne (access from Watson). Map available, please email.
All Island Illustrators Society meetings are open to the public and are wheelchair accessible.
We ask for a small donation at the door.

The Island Illustrators Society was established to foster a greater interest in the art of illustration. The society exists to benefit its members and clients through shared information regarding illustrative techniques, business ethics, and standards. In order to achieve these goals, the society makes partners of practicing illustrators, students, clients, and other interested parties.

Definition: Illustration is a piece of visual information, either drawn or photographed, which usually illustrates an accompanying text. The purpose of illustration is to enhance the ideas presented in the text, or simply, to transmit information or concepts visually.

The Island Illustrators Society does not act as an agent, but as a venue for you to contact any one of its members. You are invited to write to us at:
